Figure 1: "I don't know why we ever quit skipping. It was like our main mode of transportation in the third grade. And then for some reason, we all just stopped. And you know why? 'Cause society says that adults shouldn't skip. Crazy, right?" – Tim Hobert

Today we've only a heartbeat post for those who've grown accustomed to a Sunday release cycle. We're still alive.

As an update for regular listeners; The Cybershow remains between seasons - still caught in the transporter buffer. Soon we'll rematerialise and commence proper with the seventh season. We've a backlog of episodes to edit, master and release. Episodes on machine learning for defensive cybersec and a multi-parter on "cyberwar" are paused, but still in the job queue. Those guests know who they are and we thank you for your patience.

That's because Helen and I have both been busy with Boudica, transforming from a boutique school for cyber-defence toward a bigger mission that reflects these rapidly changing times.

And of course we had to honour the annual tradition of the Great British minging cold season. Britain is a melting pot. It's where we bring together all the lovely people of the world, and all the viruses, and mix them up in the darkness of a depressing, rainy winter, and see what survives. We made it through the latest round. Some didn't. Today we salute them, R.I.P.

It's nice to engage on different scales, to think about bigger and smaller pictures all at once. There, tactics and strategy meet, and there is much to be learned. Working on a document to support the EU Commission call for evidence AREAS69111 meant international communication back and forth to others in the Software Freedom network. Working on a "Digital Parenting Guide" has keept us grounded in the realism of local working mums and dads.

In light of the hopefully temporary change of status of the USA we've been using GPG more often. Mostly that's to protect our American friends. You might note we added pub keys to both Boudica and Cybershow contact pages. Please use them.

It's been really nice to collaborate and work with other very smart, experienced and dedicated people in South America and Finland, as well as FOSS leaders in the US through thoughtful exchanges of ideas.

In the meantime we've something to fade-in series 7. As a hearbeat episode we're putting out a Cybershow Music Radio three track mini-EP "Play On".

"Pyscho Girl" is a rework of a song written by an entirely extraterrestrial band I played keyboards with in the 1990s. The lyrics in this version are about "AI" chat apps; intrusive, controlling, and so, so sticky… just like this "girlfriend".

"Better Already" is a homage to Rick Roderick. It's an Avalanches style sample salad with a nod to Negativland. Every year his words get more potent, more relevant, and somehow funnier … I don't know why this sweet-and-sour Texan never stops being such a beacon of hope.

"Don't Find Me" is one you've heard before on Cybershow and needs no further explanation.

What an awesome cover image! Does anyone know anything about it? We don't think it's a Banksy. Origin seems to be South American. Any ideas? To all the real artists out there; Your work is more important now than ever. This is what we trained for.
